I could not be more thrilled to be blogging these images! Not just because I absolutely love them…girl was a dream to work with! She was such a peaceful sleeper that I got to try so many fun setups with her. BUT…because six months ago I met Addie’s parents. They were starting their journey with adoption. I took photos of them with their dogs in the fall and had such a great connection with them. I honestly can’t believe a mere six months later they are now holding their baby in their arms.
Hearing their experience of the entire open adoption and bringing baby home process was both sad and joyful at the same time. I truly believe the families on both sides here have been blessed and that this was meant to be. Addie is one lucky girl and I could not be more thrilled for her and her parents.
My favorite part of the session (besides just looking at this gorgeous girl)? I basically hijacked Addie for three hours of rocking, feeding, snuggling, posing, and snapping with the camera. Addie’s dad came downstairs from keeping the dogs calm and quiet when I was all done and told us he had missed her during those three hours and just wanted to hold her. I have to admit as a mom that totally makes me swoon.![]()

Betsey & Matt love specialty and craft beers and wanted to incorporate that in their photos. We met at one of their favorite spots in Minneapolis. So not only did I get to shoot a totally fun and cute couple doing something they love to do, I also got to drink a nice glass of Pinot Noir at the same time. So much fun! We finished up at one of their favorite parks, a spot that has special meaning to them.
