Elisa and Paul both have a great sense of humor and I love that about them! Elisa made fun of me for pulling my wheeled suitcase style camera bag around all day (which cracks me up) while Paul always has a mischievous and amused twinkle in his eye. Elisa nailed it when it came to style for her own bridal look to the groomsmen look and all her reception details. Paul’s mom is a florist and as a flower loving gardener I was more than smitten with Elisa’s bouquet and the amazing ceremony and reception florals. The reception was a blast with Joe from Open Bar Entertainment as their DJ and emcee, he was a perfect fit for this couple who loves to laugh. Congrats Elisa & Paul on your new marriage and for pulling off an amazing day at Villa Bellezza where it feels like you’ve been transported to Italy.

Christina & Aaron were the sweetest couple to work with. They had gorgeous weather for their big day (hello amazing sunset!) at Somerby in Rochester. My favorite part of the day (besides that sunset!) was when Christina beautifully sang Aaron a song during the ceremony. It was so beautiful everyone was near tears including me. It was also incredible to see all four sets of grandparents in attendance at the wedding. Christina and Aaron are surrounded by amazing families and rooted strong in their faith and that permeated their day. Congrats you two! 🙂
I always want to do a “best of” blog post every year and share my favorite images and moments of the year from my weddings. But, to be honest it’s so overwhelming! I feel a connection with all my clients as well as to their style, family interactions and all the details that go into to making their wedding day personal. It makes it hard for me to narrow it down. But lo and behold I did it this year! And you best believe it took me forever as I kept narrowing it down from thousands to 500 to just a little over 200.
I lovelovelove me some pretty portraits as well as detail shots but I also love the real moments that happen on wedding days. Every part of your day is equally important. From your mom fastening that last button on your dress to you and your friends getting crazy on the dance floor. And of course all those events in-between, you know, like getting MARRIED!
I want my couples to be able to hang beautiful portraits of themselves from their wedding day on their walls AND reflect back on the story of their entire day in a book. I want my bride to remember the speech her dad gave during dinner as he told her that when the doctor handed her to him that she was the most beautiful baby he had ever laid eyes on. I want my grooms to remember their crazy antics with their guys. And most importantly I want my couples to remember why they fell in love, why they decided to make a major commitment to share their lives and grow together.
Here’s to 2016!
Ain’t no little rain gonna get these two down on their wedding day! 🙌🏼 It drizzled throughout Rachel & Steve’s late October wedding day but it certainly didn’t dampen any moods. There was palpable excitement and joy in the air all day. Rachel and Steve are two of the nicest people ever with a classic and lovely sense of style. Rachel’s bridal look was timeless and elegant with an added punch of flair with red pumps, an overall perfect reflection of her personality. One of my favorite parts of the day was Rachel and her dad’s endearing relationship. It left this mama of a daddy’s girl near tears.
Let’s talk about my second favorite thing of the day, flowers, flowers, flowers! Munster Rose NAILED it! 😃🙌🏼 Rachel’s gorgeous bouquet was nearly bigger than she was and was ultra dreamy and romantic. The James J. Hill Library was transformed with a juxtaposition of soft and charming floral arrangements amongst the marble, ionic columns and book stacks. I offer no apologies for sharing way too many photos here of the floral awesomeness!
